How to specify a custom silk sleep mask for your brand
A practical brief for confirming the shape, outer fabric, filling, band and branding of a private-label silk sleep mask.
Start with the intended wearer and use case. A travel mask, a beauty gift and an overnight sleep product may need different contour, coverage and band decisions. Use the product brief to describe the target market and the wearing experience before choosing a finished size.
Record the outer fabric and internal filling as separate specifications. State the silk composition and momme direction, then describe whether the filling should be soft, structured or another agreed construction. The sample should confirm the handfeel, nose coverage and light-blocking direction for the intended design.
The band needs its own review. Confirm the relaxed length, stretch, covered elastic or adjustable construction, and how the band joins the mask. If the product carries embroidery, a printed mark or a label, include artwork, placement and size so the branding can be checked on the physical sample.
Finish the brief with packaging and care requirements. A pouch, box, insert card or barcode label should be specified separately from the mask itself. Keep the approved sample as the production reference and record any changes before moving to quotation or bulk production.
